PROGRAMME
Here at Protection Dogs International we specialise in the breeding and training of the Italian Cane Corso.
Developing over several years our own bloodline to be used specifically in home and family protection. We apply huge emphasis in our breeding selection for the traits of fierce loyalty to the family and strong guarding traits to create what we believe is the ultimate home and family guardian. We offer hand selected puppies exclusively to our clients. These pups can be raised and trained in our puppy obedience school or stay with us for high level obedience and family protection training programme.
The Cane Corso being a molosser is a lower drive dog compared to most other working breeds therefore much easier to handle in a family environment. The Cane Corso forms strong and unique bonds with each member of the family and become incredibly emotionally attached to each one. A Cane Corso would gladly lay down his life to protect his family. Devoted would be the best word to describe this dog when it comes to talking about the role of a Cane Corso as a family guardian.
BREEDING SELECTION
Our Cane Corso breeding programme is renowned globally and we have exported countless puppies and trained adult dogs to families, trainers and other breeders around the world.
As previously mentioned we have been working on our own line of Cane Corso for several years with huge emphasis in our selection of strong guarding traits and fierce loyalty to the family.
Our breeding programme is based on old South Italian bloodlines. Bloodlines going all the way back to the original Cane Corso. Dogs that have been raised as guardians for thousands of years in the Italian countryside.
With these old bloodlines come breed traits that are well developed, tried and tested and have proved their worth continually over the centuries with several historical accounts of these dogs saving their masters from bandits and violent attacks dating back as far as ancient Rome.
CANE CORSO PROTECTION DOGS
We believe Cane Corsos are the ultimate family protection dogs. The fierce loyalty and defensive nature of the breed combined with lower levels of drive fit perfectly with families requiring an extra level of home security.
Our world renowned Cane Corso breeding program is based on ancient bloodlines ensuring tried and tested breed traits that have stood the test of time.
In one historic account in particular a Cane Corso dog and his 8 year old master were mummified together over 2000 years ago in Pompei, Italy. The dog was preserved lying over his young master trying to shield him from the volcanic ash.
On the dogs collar was a brass plate detailing two previous occasions in which the dog had protected his young master from kidnap attempts. This is testament to the character of the Cane Corso and his devotion to the family. A testament that has been frozen in time.
